Re: 1989 johnson 150 VRO
Mike

The general view is that the VRO pump is a disaster if it fails.

If it's working, it's great, but why take the risk fo the sake of a few seconds premixing fuel.

I run a 70 with a VRO pump, and I have persisted with it. So far it has not let me down. I change the oil and reprime every season. I check that oil is at the see through pipe evey trip and thet the prime bulb stays rock hard.I regularly check the horn system. So far so good.

Unfortunately the horn wilI only tell you that oil is getting through, not how much.

Many people would be a little nervous about running a 10+ year old motor relyin on the VRO.

If in doubt. take it off. It is easy to disconnect and run with a premix.

I'm going to carry on with my VRO pump as long as I think it is ok.
