On the side of this motor is a manual primer, it is a little red nob with an arrow what is this for and how do I adjust it<br />Thanks in advance

That is a manual choke. Primer circuit should be built into the ignition switch. Leave the choke in the open position. It is to be used when manually starting a motor. There should be a diagram on your cowling with instructions on starting. If not try your manual or post back.
