I recently bought a used 40hp Johnson. Had it checked out professionally and the engine is good. However the tech noticed that the trim tab was missing.
I talked to the guy I bought the motor from and he said it had been missing for years, with no adverse effect, that they were really not necessary...Does he know what he's talking about??? I'm new to boating and don't have a clue.
