I've got a 75 hp mariner (1989), the lower unit pinion gear and forward gear are trashed (reverse isn't bad, just a knick or two). I've priced the parts, there over $500 for a set of gears. Then I need to pay to have em installed. (not to mention seals and orings). Any cheaper place to get this done? I'm on a super tight bugdet. thank you for your help.

I've had the whole lower unit rebuilt. everything replaced but the prop and drive shaft. bearings, gears, seals, waterpump. all for $825. The fellow that did it is extremly knowlegdable and helpful, i think i made out like a bandit on this deal.

These parts wont fit that motor Max...... Yours a 3 or 4 cylinder as they didnt make a 75hp in 1989..
