Help please . The primer blub won't get hard and I replaced it with a new one ans I can pump bulb and release the button that goes into the engine and some gas gomes out . won't start and I was out in the lake over night and it would not start next morning I just kept pumping and when it did start it runs perfect. however I can't get it started now. Thanks

If the carbs are full the bulb is air locked and won't get hard inless it's bleed

My primer bulb wouldnt get hard so I went and bought a new one (Quicksilver, same as the original one) and it still didnt get hard. I could squeeze it for an hour and still nothing. Then out of frustration more than anything, I laid the bulb down on the floor of the boat, made a fist and started pounding on it very quickly, it was hard in 5 seconds.

Hello Thanks for that ans and I just made sure all the air was out of the primer line and I pumped for about 2 min the blub did not get really hard however it started up and ran perfect Im guess i will have to do this all the time however I should not have to be doing this.

Is the primer bulb installed with the arrow pointing toward the engine? You wouldn't be the first person to install it in the wrong direction. Also, try holding the primer bulb vertically while you are pumping it.

Thanks for the reply however the arrow is pointing toward the motor and I did know to check that and I will try pumping vertical to and Maybe I will try to bleed some air off the line as I really don't know . any more comments would be appreciated. Gil
