1989 Mercury 70 hp RPM?

I just bought this boat and got it on the water on last weekend. The boat is a 16 foot closed bow bass boat.

At full throttle the RPM were just up over 4000. My question is what is a comfortable RPM range for this motor?

You should be running between 4750 and 5250 RPMs at WOT with that motor.

I don't even think I opened the throttle completely... I'm babying my new boat... love it, can't wait to get back on the lake this weekend!
