I have a 89 Sea Ray 220 DA 4.3 Alpha1 have been running a 14.5"X17 4 blade SS prop with great results. Have recently added swim platform (Swimplatforms Inc) this added approx 200 Lbs to the weight at the stern. Now with a heavy load (Full fuel 4 adults onboard) boat is taking an extreamlly long time to plane. Would I need to go down in pitch? And if so how much 16,15? Top end speed is not a consern as this is a cruser.

Thanks,

Boy; you added 200lbs at about the worst place. If you go to a 15" it should improve hole shot but you may have to watch the rpm especially lightly loaded. You might consider adding trim tabs instead. Should improve hole shot and may improve handling.
There are passive tabs like smart tabs and active tabs you control for the conditions.
With either one add only just enough pressure to improve results.

Sea Ray 220 DA's come standard with trim tabs...

If you can afford it, try a 14-5/8 x 16 Michigan Wheel Apollo 4 blade SS Part # 993203

Yep it has the stock tabs. Slip Away, is that the prop you have on yours? If I could find a place to test drive one it would be great the money is no problem just don't want to drop $400 on another anchor for the Zodiac if it does not work out..... Thanks for the help.
