1989 Stratos with wet form in it.

I have a 1989 Stratos with wet form in it. I notoced the boat seemed heavy and got checking and the form in it is wet. I had to drill a 7/8 hole and i can feel it is wet. WHAT CAN YOU DO ABOUT IT OR ANY THING? Or just live with it?

Lots you can do with it, but none of it easy. You will nedd to replace the entire floor (including foam), and likely the stringers too. Look in the restoration forum for all sorts of help.

Well i guess i have to use it as a heavy boat.... Don't think i would take the whole boat apart.

You don't have to take the boat apart! Read the re-sto threads, both here and on other forums such as Classic Aquasport, Classic Mako, and Continuous Wave. You probably won't get the foam dry, but you'll get a hell of a lot of water out of there...without "taking the boat apart"...

If you don't want to take it aprart to fix the wet foAm issue will you take it apart to replace the rot when the deck caves in and hurts someone?

I have done fixed one spot in the floor were there was a pedestal for seat there and water when in there. I removed it and the form there and replace it all so it is dry in the middle of the floor. It is were the gas tank sit on the left side of the boat were it is water a little.. Not sure why but it is.

There is only one fix for wet foam..and that is to remove it and then replace the areas that are rotted out with new wood and lay a new floor, if you don't want to do that, you might as well sell it to someone who will repair it properly and find another boat that will fits your needs, that does not have problems.
