1989 Sunbird Eurosport I - OMC 4.3 Cobra

Does anyone know about this bowrider boat?

I am about to buy one very inexpensively - The boat looks mint for the age and has primarily been used in fresh water.

There is no info on the net for this 1989 model.

Any opinions/experience on this boat is very much appreciated.

I have an '89 sunbird 208 with the OMC 4.3 Cobra. I have been running it for about four years now without the slightest issue. I have only had to do routine maintenance. Great boat!!

I am in the process of completely restoring a 88 4.3L Sunbird Corsair. I got it with a motor full of saltwater. The only big issue I have run across at this point is the manifolds, which are one piece and since OMC has been out of business for years, these mani's are impossible to come by. An aftermarket set is available at the small price of 1200 big ones.. in comparison to any Mercruiser's manifolds which are about 300 - 400 brand new. Other parts are readily available, and the boat is very easy to work on. If I were to know more about boats getting into this.. I think I would have definately gotten a boat with a mercruiser in it.. just 2 cents. But if the price is right.. it might still be worth it.
