I have recently purchased a 1989 Trophy 2103 Center Console with twin Force 85hp engines. The boat had been under cover and in a storage building for the last 7 years. The motors compression readings are 128 - 135 lbs. My mechanic says that the motors look very well taken care of. Lower units are shifting fine, no metal in lube.

I am having the carbs worked, new water pumps, lube changed.

I have been trying to find some performance expections for this setup.

Speed information?
Gas Comsumption?

Anyone had experience with this setup? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Welcome to iboats!

Sounds like an interesting setup. How about some pictures?

Make sure you replace the impellers before you run the boat.

You can get almost any info you can imagine for the motors over in the Force outboard section.

As a rough guesstimate, you will probably use something on the order of 16 to 18 gallons per hour at wide open throttle, at perhaps 40 to 45 MPH, depending on props.

NYBo,

Thanks for the information. I am having the impellers replaced, carbs worked, new plugs and the rest of the general servicing.

Even though the motors have been sitting for 7 years, my mechanic had both motors running on a stanalone tank with 15 minutes.

We have some carbon buildup, but until the impellers are changed he didn't want to run it to long.

The previous owner has passed away so I can't really get performance information from him. The estate didn't really know too much about it.

I will post some pictures when I get back to where the boat is being worked on later this week.
