hey ya'll. i have a v-135 1989 with voltage regulator #88825a7 and rectifier #8m0058226. i want to replace both but the only regulator i've found is $210 and $40 for a rectifier. i found a cdi product #8825k that magemarinestore says is a rectifier/regulator but every other web site says its a regulator. its $150 or so and im wondering if this replaces both the regulator AND rectifier or just the regulator?! thanx for the help! That'll work. If you want to get by cheap, put on a commodity 20 amp bridge rectifier, throw away the regulator, and keep the water up on the battery. Cost is about $3.

The murkery rectifier is junque, as in marginal in design. The shunt/saturation type regulator is also junque in design.

Another option is to throw on any used 20 amp regulator from a later engine, as in one of the regulators in a dual reg. 40 amp system. Stator limits it to 16 amps. Regulator don't care. I wouldn't pay over $40 for one.

hope it helps
John
