I am installing a trim gauge on my boat so I don't end up just burning out the motor because with all the noise I cant ever tell if I have it all the way down or up. My question is from the attached pictures from back where my pump motor is what wire would I tie to for my SENDER WIRE?

Ok so here is what I have.

Purple white tracer seems to be the TRIM UP but it will stop once UP at the safety stop.
Green is the down wire
Red is Power
Blue wire is the UP wire at would be wired into the trailer button to bring it up all the way

I hooked up the TRIM gauge. I have the power and ground hooked up and then I put the Purple with tracer to the sender
when I am up all the way until the purple wire stops at the safety the trim gauge it up all the way. As soon as I move the trim down just a bit it will drop all the way to down on the gauge. It also jumps around on the gauge until I am stopped. SO I am either all the way up or Down.

What am I doing wrong??? thanks

I don't seen any Brown white wires back there for a sender.....my guess is I have the right set up I just need to mess around with the send plastic muff on the side of the outdrive

Ok the purple with white tracer is the trim limit. I found the Brown with the white tracer which is the trim sender wire.. Turns out my problem is the trim sender was broken down at the hinge pin on the outboard housing. I have a new one on order and then I should have it working and just need to make final adjustments.

thanks
