1989 wellcraft nova 23

I bought a 89 nova 233 last summer and blew up the 454 the first time i had it out(a piston blew), now i have rebuilt the motor and since i have it out i want to put thru hull exhaust on it. i have the basic idea on how to do this but was just wondering if i should go with three or four inch tips. i could really use some help on this guys! And if any body knows where to the good deals on tips hose block off plate,etc etc let me know. thanks john

Ayuh,... Welcome Aboard John,....

If yer gonna go thru-hulls, go Capt.'s Choice, or other switchables....

Thru-hulls are only "Cool" for a day or 2, then it gets Old....
It's Alota Money, 'n NO performance gains...

Don't waste your time of for that matter your money. They only sound good for a while. After about four hours you are going to say what, "what was I thinking." For the same money, go for fuel injection. You will get better economy and performance, plus resale value. Thru hull noise makers are of no value and are a negative on resale.

I have no problem voicing a dissenting viewpoint as I love my captain's call, get the 4 inch reason being you will have a performance decrease if the exhaust is to small and a 454 is nearly as big as it gets, I would also get the captain's call or other switchable as some lakes have noise level regulations. I have a guy that can get you a good price, PM me if your interested. I have also seen full setups on Craigslist.

I think this may be one of the only topics I disagree with Bond-o on

i also found these 4in hardin marine stainless steel tips for about 200,, i found the exhaust hose for like a hundred and the block off plate for like 30 bucks,, it doesnt seem like alot of money and i can put slip in mufflers in these tips,,dunno whatta ya think??

I dunno, Mine was a factory option so I didn't have to do anything, sorry, the way I did it was much easier!!
