I took my boat out for the fireworks last night and out of the blue it started bogging out and wouldnt stay running, had to get towed in.

Anyway I'm tooling around with it today and I picked up some dry gas just incase I had water in the system and drained the fuel filter and after a few trys it fires up and runs at idle beautifully and then boggs out again, I try to start and it fires then bogs out again... runs then stalls, I pull the filter and i dont see water separation, the carb was gone through (with documentation) before I bought the boat and I've had it on the water 4 times and it has ran flawlessly.

I'm lost cause if I can get it to run I can rev it a few times and then it stalls again. When I got it running the first time it idled for a solid 5 minutes with no issues, it will idle for 20 or so secs. then do the same thing

Look at your distributor cap, rotor, and points. If your points were dry (without some grease on the distributor cam lobes), then about 3 or 4 outings sounds about right before you start missing, backfiring, stalling and eventually won't run at all. This is because the little tab wears down quickly and you lose your gap.
PS- we are practically neighbors, as I am often on the St. Clair river and in Anchor Bay.
