I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW YOUR OPINION ABOUT THIS ENGINE.<br />1- TYPE OF 2 STROKE ENGINE OIL: TCWII OR TCWIII<br />2- ROUGH AT 1200-1700 RPM, WHY?<br />3- CAN I ELIMINATE THE OIL INJECTION?(I CAN NOT FIND SPARE PARTS IN MY COUNTRY)<br />4- ENGINE TEMP GAUGE SHOW COLD AT 4000 RPM(GAUGE WORKING GOOD) ANY DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE?<br />ANY SPACIAL CARE TO THIS ENGINE?<br />DIFFERENCES BETWEEN 275 VS 280 HP MERC?<br />THANKS FOR YOUR KIND ATTENTION<br />CARLOS (MERCVEN)<br />VENEZUELA

CARLOS<br />#1) Use TCW-3 oil, as it has better properties.<br />#2) The rough idle could be caused by the engine running to cold.<br />#3) Yes, you can eliminate the oil injection, but why? It is very reliable on those engines.<br />#4) Sounds like the thermostats could be stuck open causing it to not warm up, causing the problem in #2. Check them out and Replace if nessesary.<br />No special care to the engine, other than a decarb. once a year and change the lower unit fluid regularly.

THANKS RICK FOR YOUR PROMPT REPLY.<br />1-OK, TCWIII<br />2-REGARDING ROUGH OPERATION, THIS ENGINE ALWAYS DO, IT MEANS HOT OR COLD. TIME BEFORE TEMP WAS OK AND ENGINE WAS ROUGH; BUT WHEN REACH 2000 RPM THE ENGINE RUNS GOOD (CAN HEAR ALL 6 CILINDERS WORKING PROPERLY, TOGETHER). ALSO I´VE CHECKED AND CLEAN CARBURATORS,BUT THE ENGINE VIBRATE EXCESIVE AT 1500 RPM.AT IDLE IT IS OK.<br />3- I DID ELIMINATE OIL INJECTION, BECAUSE PREVIOUS MECHANIC LOST SOME PARTS. NOW I´VE BEEN USING WITH PREMIX.<br />4-WORKING COLD, MAY DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE?<br />SERIAL ODO33311<br />THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION.<br />CARLOS
