I have converted this engine to a pre-mixer. I may be still having some fuel issues. It will take a t least one more trip to the lake to decide.
My question is this, when the VRO pump is working properly, how often will it tick at idle? Mine seems to tick about once a sec. Here is a 2nd question, I picked up two fuel pumps on Ebay, they are both the three tube versions. One it for a 3 cyL (60hp) engine, and the other is larger from a four of six cylinder.
Do you think I will run into any problems useing on of these pumps on my 2 cyl 40 HP engine? The larger one is rebuilt, and the smaller one might be OK, but is not rebuilt. I am not sure which kit it takes.

Thanks KP

One pump at idle per second is too much, bad pump or sucking air.

I thought it was bad because it would smoke like a house on fire when the oil injection was attached. What about the different fuel pumps? Is there a problem using the larger capacity pumps on my 40 HP motor. I need to find out before my VRO pump fails. Sea trail/fishing trip #6 on Sat.
There are no air leaks in this system, I have checked the clamps, and checked the hoses with a vacumn pump/gage.
