i have a 1990 48 spl runs good except for at low/idle speed. I can start and let warm up drop the idle lever down and within 5 seconds the motor chokes off. I rebuilt the carbs (completly) setting floats parallel with bowl. Am I missing something? I'm under the assumption my high and low speed jets have no adjustments.....maybe that's my mistake, but the best I can tell that's what my manual tells me. What's my next step? Thanks in advance!

Have you by chance checked your linkage cable on the throttle........ you might be forcing the carbs too low....... examine the linkage and see if the cable is allowing the linkage to move through it's entire range.

yea, I've been a little leary of messy with the link and sync step. I've got a manual, but it is vague at best for this procedure. However, they do seem to be working in unison but..........apparently working in unison wrong:( thanks for your help, hopfully i'll get a chance to work on it tomorrow.
