1990 60hp dies at idle

i have a 1990 60hp evey.. at slow idle it misses and after a while it dies im trying to run at 3.5 mph or slower but just as i put it in gear it will run there for a bit then die what can i do to raise the idle without going fast?

there is no way i can troll at 3 1/2 mph with my 50hp but that also depends on the boat,theres no way to adjust the low speed needle on that motor as i believe,,u can adjust ur linkage rod but u will idle faster,,what ratio u running ur oil at,,,50.1 is not much oil at all but thats what they call for,,i usually run mine at 40.1,,,,,also i have my 50hp rude and it started so hard and didnt wanna idle,,,i ripped the carbs off and the needle that is under the float looked like a crayon,,check that first as i would.if there is a ring mark on the rubber then i would change them cause they only $8,,after i fixed mine it will now idle smooth all day long let me know

the 3 cyl don't like to idle too much they were made to run..., if you wanna go slow or troll then buy a 6 hp or trolling motor is my .02.

other than that check thhe low speed circuits in the carbs??
