when replacing the impeller, aren't you suppose to rotate the cup down and clockwise over the impaller in order for the "fins" on the impeller to be bent in the right direction?
just making sure I am doing it propoerly. thanks

hold the housing, with the cup installed, over the impeller, rotate the drive shaft CW while pushing down on the housing. if you wish use a bit of dishwashing liquid and water to lube it.

Thanks for the info. I was told to rotate the cup CW and down over the impeller but rotating the shaft the way you described would change the direction of the impeller tabs. Perhaps I was always putting mine in backwards which caused over heating only during long 3MPH trolling trips. I sure hope this works!
