i'm looking at a recoil assembly on ebay. It says it will fit the johnson 15/ evinrude 9.9, and it came off of a 1975. Will this recoil be the same as the 1990? Thanks for your help!!
No it won't. They changed the design in, I believe, 1978. The gear that makes contact with the flywheel is the major change. You will have to keep looking. I've bought a couple of the newer ones off Ebay so you will see them for sale. Rick.
