hello....I just took my boat out of storage and ran the motor (1990 90 hp )on muffs...anyway it was a bit of a hard start and when it did start it was backfiring and running rough ...I shut it down and checked the temp on the 4 cyl ....#'s 1 and 3 were normal temp and #'s 2 and 4 were just slightly warm ....I pulled the plugs on 2 and 4 and found that they were black and sooty .... spark on all four seems strong. I fogged the motor in the fall and added stabalizer to the fuel.
So I'm hoping somebody could give me a clue as to what to do next.Also was wondering if I was to add conditioner(carb cleaner) to the fuel and ran it with #'s 2 and 4 cyl not running at normal temp could I possibly do any damage?
