Hey guys. Picked this up a month or so ago in trade for a motorcycle I was selling. The PO said it was garage kept by him and the PO before him. The interior seems immaculate minus a few spots but thats figured for 20 year old vinyl. Its only 50 hp but enough to maybe pull a tube and cruise around in. This is my first boat. I have always done cars and trucks never a boat so I am exciting about my first water project. If any one has any tips or tricks for this boat for anything I would appreciate a bone being thrown out. thanks guys.

Looks real nice. I would examine the floor for any soft spots, and look at the transom for same. Seal any areas where you might get water intrusion, such as where the motor controls come through. Transom and floor deterioration can be a problem on older bayliners. Doesnt look like you will have to do much though. Good trade.

Welcome to iboats!

The boat and trailer look to be in great shape from the pix. As noted, check carefully for soft spots (bet you don't find any, though).

I think the maximum HP rating for the boat is 85. If the current motor isn't in good shape, you can find 85 HP Force motors at very reasonable prices. I picked one up with a brand new tilt & trim pump, extra controls, extra props, extra stator, and a box of wiring for $600 off eBay a couple of years ago.

Similar story here too, I got mine a couple of months ago PO replaced the Outboard with a 90 HP Mercury and I had to replace the steering cable, it was hard to turn and now it's like power steering, did it myself too!!

here are some reference sites for the steering cable in case:

It's called a trailering bracket. (Knowing the actual name will help you search for the correct part.)
