I bought this cheap and I have $1000 to play with for a new engine and I'm just trying to review my options.
-I could buy a used 2.3 at a local boat yard for 6-700 but no one knows the condition yet.
- someone is selling the same boat, engine and trailer for 800 but he's not sure on condition of the engine. (Says it runs but rough)
- or I could replace engine and drive to something totally different but I'm not sure what will fit with the same engine mounts, I read that the cobra drive hole in the transom is the same as an alpha 1and 2 drives.
I did find a 4.3 Murc with alpha drive but I'm concerned the engine won't line up with the mounts.
Can anyone confirm if it will?
