I'm going to look at this boat, asking 5k. They ripped out the old carpeting.
How much would it roughly cost me to pay someone to put in a fiberglass floor with drains?
I will be checking for rot but was told it's solid.
175hp with 274 hours owned by an 80 some year old man.

smart looking little boat....

it looks like the owner took care of it.

as far as the glass floor.....you could do it your self in just an after noon.

but i get the feeling you want a gellcoat floor....kinda the same but not really....

are you talking about a nice shiney floor?

I miss labeled it is a Bonita not a Cobia. There is a small area behind the drivers seat in front of the bench seat that is soft. The floor is painted fiberglass on top of a wood floor. Someone had put down aluminum plates under each helm seat that you see in the picture.
I put my 200 ponds on the outboard, no flex, no cracks. No spider cracks anywhere in the gel coat that I could see.
Salesman said the soft spot is more likely just an isolated weak spot in the plywood underneath. If it had rotted stringers you would see cracking in the gelcoat. He recommended just putting some plywood down and carpet the whole thing.
I'm thinking I could get some use out of it for a couple years and the outboard and trailer would still have value if worse case the floor did get worse?
Your thoughts???

Alright, I slept on it. There is a reason the seat posts are sitting on top of those plates. And the soft spot in the rear. Who knows how much rot there is. I will keep looking.

Keep looking... indeed. Why the old motor on that rig, too? Keep a-lookin'.

Yeah that boat is rotten for sure. Sure has some nice upholstery and a hell of a motor though! That would certainly be a worthwhile project but not one you'd pay $5k for.
