My 90 model 115hp needs a new fuel pump and I will be converting over to premix. I have a 78 115hp and the fuel pump is mounted to the intake. The boat is a hr from me and I was curious if the 1990 has the place on the intake to bolt the fuel pump onto if i need to just buy a 3 hose pump. Any help would be appreciated.

The 78 uses a 2 hose pump and is mounted to the block. The mounting gasket has a hole in it to provide the pulses to the pump. Your current VRO pump uses a 3-hose system, one of which is the pulse line. You can replace the VRO with an older 3-hose pump and it will work fine. 385784 is that pump. It supercedes to a more current part number, but will work. Also possible your block may have a port in the casting which is blocked off on your engine, which could be converted to use a pump similar to the 1978 2-hose pump. You'll have to visually check it. The factory parts lists are helpful. Check out this website: epc.brp.com
