I recently replaced the timer base and noticed the coating on the stator had melted and dripped down on the mounting screws. I thought this must be from some previous , corrected electrical problem. The motor runs fine and I have about 6 hours running time since doing the work. I pulled the cover yesterday just to make sure everything looked ok and discovered that the coating had melted and dripped on the new timer base. What causes the stator to get that hot? I have noticed that the volt meter seems to be 14 to 15 volts all the time. Could it be over charging, causing the melting? Thanks for any info.

You might want to pull the flywheel and check that the magnets are firmly glued down. While there, check the wiring to make sure that it is well insulated and free of damage.

Hello the original stators had a single metal plate protecting coil from heat. the replacement has many plates gluded together to help protect coil from heat and leaking. any questions call 631-514-1525 Ralph
