hey guys, haven't posted in a while (my 1979 115 'rude has bee kicking *** all summer :) ) My buddy has a 1990 (model number E25RESB) evinrude 25 on a 15 ft aluminum duck boat. it seemed to be fine when i took it to the lake, running full power. i did notice after a while i had it about 5/6 way open throttle then when i really cranked it it seemed to do not much more and even caused it to surge. that would have been fine if it was the only problem. after about 5-10 mins of blasting around (this happened twice now), the motor will run funny for a few seconds and die. i mean it QUITS. both times i have inspected it visually made sure it wasn't hot as all hell, and it wasn't. also tried pumping primer bulb while surging (immediately suspected fuel pump), but that had little to no effect. i mean i was pulling this thing and nothing at all. then later in the day when it is on the trailer or the next day- fires right up. i suspect no spark at the time of incapacitation, but before i do that whole thing i figured id post and see if u guru's had and knowledge on these motors specifically because i am not familliar with them. thanks guys

Might be some grit or gunk in the sediment bowl. Maybe some particles that are just large/heavy enough not to get picked up at partial throttle, but can be moved by the gas flow required for full throttle.

They might fall back out into the bowl when the motor sits unused for a while.
