So I have a broken warning buzzer on my outboards controls.
The existing horn is a 3 wire hookup, however I can't find an exact pn for a replacement.

Does anyone know the pn for the warning buzzer I will need to replace it with?
I have found many 2 wire alarms on ebay that look identical, would they work?

The only 3 wire horns I've found are more than triple the price.
I'd just like to avoid spending that kind of money if I can.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Thanks for the reply.
I'm not certain I know to be honest.
I am not terribly knowledgeable about this motor I have.

From what I've read I assume the three wire alarm would include fuel pressure as a means to activate.
I don't believe my motor has that feature, I've never noticed any electrical connection that look like it would send fuel pressure information.

This three wire horn may not be original for my engine in fact.
The PO spliced it into the existing engine wiring harness, there is not a weatherproof connector in sight.

If I was to go with a two wire hookup, would I just need to wire the temp sensor, ( I know where that is) to one wire, and a 12v? or Ground? to the other???

On a 2 wire horn you have a tan wire from the sensor to one terminal and a purple wire from the run side of the ignition switch to the other terminal. The horn will ground through the sensor if the engine overheats.

Thanks alot, I am going to install a 2 wire and call it good.
It will certainly be better than the no horn I've been using for the past year.
I'll update the post after I get it installed.

When you have installed the horn make sure to turn your key to the run position and then ground the tan wire in the harness at the sensor to make sure the system works.
