1990 Evinrude XP150 Lower Unit Lubricant

Gentlemen any recommendations on type of lubricant to use i.e Evinrude, Quicksilver, Tech from Wal-Mart and also what viscosity is recommended Evinrude XP150 1990. Thanks Steve

I use any of the above from Walley World as long as it says lower unit oil.

I'd stay away from any Mercury gear oil product which says "Premium" lower unit oil. Stick with the "high performance" in Quicksilver or Mercury brand. Bombardier also makes a superior gear oil product: HPF XR. You've got an expensive lower unit-don't skimp on the grade of oil.

I think I will stay with the Quicksilver or the HPF XR Bombardier product for mu lower unit.
