Started up my engine without the kill switch engaged. Went to turn off with the key and the engine stayed running. Is this a problem with the ignition-kill button? Any help much appreciated.

it sound that your kill SW is bad if you can start with out it:confused: check the weiring to it and I had the same problem not shutting down and I installed a new ignition SW and that fixed the problem.

Most likely a loose wire on the ignition switch.

The kill switch grounds the CDI boxes and is usually tied through the ignition switch. It could be a loose wire or a bad ground. Get out the book and check the kill wires under the dash.
