1990 force 150- 5cyl rod came thru bottom of exhaust port

I rebuilt a 1990 150 5 cyl, and it thru a rod after the first 1/2 mile, ran slow to medium speed. It came thru and left a hole about size of a dime. It is in the bottom left square cavity of the exhaust manifold. CAN IT BE REPAIRED? How? I haven't pulled the power head off the lower case yet.<br />Thanks jrm

Hi Jrm<br />This would be a tough call sitting here not seeing the damage. Sometimes repairs like this can be made. A repair might involve cutting out the old sleeve, welding up the damage, reboring the block and installing a new sleeve. Only you will be able to determine if cost of this work is worth the trouble. If it is possible in this case.
