Helped a friend replace his worn out impeller today. Tried running test but no water out the exhaust ports(no pee hole). Ran it in a makeshift test tank where the water covered the holes in lower unit but not totally submerged( is this the prob. ?) Disassembled again looking for obstruction, found none, impeller correctly installed(clockwise).
Will try new t-stat in AM but old one checked out fine(measured in pot of water on stove with temp. gauge, fully open at 130 degrees). Any suggestions Force wrenchs?
Thanks in advance.. :D

After looking at the manual, I see that they are calling for a counter clockwise rotation of the impeller when installing into the pump housing. Another thing to look for is the pump key to be in the correct position. If you have plates that you can take off and look into the pickup ports,on the lower unit, look for grass picked up on the water or other possible obstructions.

No water st all? It should be mist or spray, as opposed to a steady flow of water.
It should take 1 to 2 minutes for the thermostat to open up. If it dont, try removing the thermostat to see if the flow improves,an to flush out the water jacket. If it does, instal a new one.

Found the problem...lower unit wasn't submerged in water enough to get the water up to the impeller. Works fine with ear muffs.
PS- impleller direction is clockwiseas viewed from above. Thanks for the input gents! :D
