Hello,

Just purchased a 1990 Freedom 150. Found the brochure for the model on the FW site and it claims the "back-to-back seats fold to lay down lounges." It shows them configured as such in the brochure. I've looked them over closely and can't find any switch, button, lever, etc., to release the seats. Anyone know if this was an option or how this works on similar models/years?

Thanks.

Normally no switch or lever.... just pickup the "seat" part of the seat

Re: 1990 Freedom 150

Well for the last few weeks at least four family members and friends and I tried to lift the seats with no success. I thought I was going to lift the boat off the trailer by the seats at one point ;) With a flashlight I was finally able to see the mechanism for the seats. Hit the joints with some lubricant, waited a bit, and tried again and they rose up with a pull. Apparently, they had not been moved since they left the factory since the PO told me they didn't recline. Sprayed a bit more lube and now they move easily.

I've been reading this forum for many hours and the help and support are amazing. Thanks for the help with this problem.

How do you like that 150 Freedom?

I am thinking of going to look at one tomorrow that is for sale.

What engine does your have?

How well does it perform?

We like the boat. It has the 50hp Evinrude, it has some zip, starts easily and according to the manual it tops out in the low-30mph range (the speedo is broken on mine). Usually it is just my wife and I in the boat so there is plenty of room, but I wouldn't want to have five large adults in it on a sustained basis. Had it on the lake a few times this summer and it's been great.
