1990 gt100 coils going bad, why?

1990 gt 100 vj100slesb Lost wot, only 3000 rpms. found 1 bad coil and 1 week one, replaced and ran fine for 2 hrs 5000 rpm. same thing no top end, what is blowing my coils up? Thanks

Could be age. Are they original. Make sure the coil grounds are clean.

I have put all 4 new coils on and it ran fine for 2 hrs then the bottom one on right side quit.
