I've got a 1990 BF15 with supposedly low hours off ebay. There was some oil leakage due to shipping (although the correct side was facing up). But, after I have cleaned all the oil off of everything (inside and outside cowl).........and it has been mounted on the boat for 3 weeks........and run for several hours last night, I still get oil very slowly running out of the drain holes at the bottom of the powerhead housing........the oil collects on the anticaviation plate. Inside the cowling, it looks as though oil droplets are collecting on the bolts on the bottom of the head. Is this a common problem? Is there an easy way to tell where the oil is coming from?
