1990 Horizon 200

Potentially purchasing a 90 horizon 200 w/ 230 hp V8, Guy told me it was a 350 but i am thinking based on looking around the forums it is an OMC 5.8
Boat is in mint condition, 1 owner
Horsepower to me for a 5.8 @ 230 seem quite low, i had a 70's model mercruiser 5.0 that had 228 HP

I bought the boat, it actually had a 5.7 OMC cobra in it w/ the 4 barrel holley carb option. I believe the motor was rated at 260HP w/ the 2 barrel but i dont know what it puts out with the 4 barrel.

Again any input on this outdrive, motor or boat would be greatly apprecaited

I actually found the Factory OMC Manual that contains everything you need to know about the OMC Engines and Outdrives. It contains all versions of it, It has step by step instructions on how to repair everything you need on the omc setup. I found mine on Ebay about 2 years ago. It was definitely worth the 45 dollars as it is better the clymers or seloc. Might want to search around and see if you can find one. Mine came in handy when my shift cable went bad.. Did the repairs myself, and i have never owned a boat in my life before this one..

I have an 88 Horizon 200 with a 4.3 OMC 4bbl. It's been a good running boat, the main issue I had was a rotted deck and stringers, both have been repaired and although it was a big job in the end it was worth it. I find this boat has a lot more room in it for a 20' than many newer boats of the same size. The newer styles seem to waste a lot of space on styling. This one has more room in both the cockpit and the bow compartment than new 200 Horizons, which are about a foot shorter if you compare measurements.

The floor in mine is solid as a brick, I hope i dont have any issue with it rotting. I think if you keep it in covered storage or keep it covered well it should last. The interior of minei s a little different than yours with back to back seats that fold flat and no bench accross the back.
