Hi

I currently have a Evinrude 225hp 1987 model on my Bayliner Capri 180, but the boat is way overpowered with this engine:(Talked to a guy today that has a 1990`ish Suzuki 100hp v4 engine that he wants to swap with my Evinrude. Is the Suzuki a good engine??

Yes the suzuki is a good engine, but you will be stupid if you swap .... 100hp is underpowered again, if you don't want to open the 225hp all the way just don't, or set the throttle links at the motor on the carbs to a comfortable speed for you then you can basically make sure it only puts out about 130hp or 150hp or whatever .... it is a much better motor than the 100 v4 believe me ..... besides, you will be sorry afterwards, keep it as is ... it is alot of effort to change the motors, controls, holes in transom etc etc ...... PS. the fuel consumption is about the same ...... hard to believe but true ... ;)
