starts right up idles perfect, goes good at slower speeds. When I try to take off it will go for a second, then goes dead. It will start rite back up, just will not take off. I have taken this carb off and cleaned 3 times, no good. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. thanks

If the carb is clean, check for a frayed wire shorting out as the timer base moves.

^^in addition, gotta press a little about the carb cleaning procedure. Possible you didn't take it down far enough (idle circuit under the expansion plug), or maybe a little too far (buggered up the h.s. jet struggling to get it out). And maybe it's a matter of adjusting or readjusting the l.s. mixture needle. Part of the procedure is to make sure that it will throttle up without hesitation or stalling, warmed up and in gear -- all things being equal (i.e., no compression or ignition issues, incl. shorts like described).
