1990 Johnson 60hp trim

Can someone steer me in the right direction the trim on my 60hp will go
up but sometimes it won"t come back down

Welcome to the forums Golfmann! We need a little more information on this post. Does the trim motor run when you are trying to bring it down or no?

When your trying to put it down can you hear the tilt mtr run ? If not it it could be a bad t/t sw. Or else the t/t relays. You may want to try swapping the relays and see what happens.

Have you checked the fluid level in it ? This has to be checked in the full up position.

No, will low fluid level stop unit from lowering

after you check fluid levels pay close attention to your electricals. J/E have a higher than avergae history of electrical problems. A lot of people with symptoms like yours find out that it is a bad trim limit switch or a loose connection into the relay block.
