I've battling running problems last week with a negative vent /collapsing primer bulb. I finally eliminated everything except pick up tube blockage. I removed and screen was clogged with trash. I reinstalled pick up tube without screen to insure it would not clog on charter yesterday. Motor ran fine all day in rough seas and various throttle positions. I returned to dock and did my normal shutdown procedures. Today , had a late afternoon charter, boat was slightly running rough and didn't want to stay idle. Got underway , she would not accelerate, only bog down and run less than 2500 rpm. I did dump racor and found several particles in gas. On side note, while motor was idling me back to dock, I had no tilt trim , then back at dock after tying up, I had no key switch ignition power, gauges would power up but no ignition when turned key . I messed with battery connections wing nuts and it kicked over, but running barely at idle. I can engage in neutral and it will run. Also my water temp gauge would not come up on initial departure from dock and tach was bouncing , all other gauges worked fine. (Fuel, water pressure, voltage). Any ideas to start ? Remove all fuel and reinstall screen?

Thanks for any feedback,
Frustrated Capt!

Clearly you have some electrical issues. Get those straightened out and see how boat runs. Wing nuts on a battery is a bad idea. Clean connection and replace with nylon locknuts.
