I am looking at a 1990 75hp outboard that has had some work on it before I got it. Engine was running and suddenly quit. Has good spark, no fuel.
Owner purchased a fuel pump rebuild kit. Kit was purchased by using serial number and said all gaskets appeared to be exactly as the old ones
First picture - is an exploded view of the pump and components from shop manual
Second picture - is an exploded view of the pump itself from shop manual - all the gaskets in the new kit match up to those pictured. The second half of the picture shows the installation connections. NOTE the that the cover where the "pulse" hose is located has a second connection in the top picture but the connection picture does not show it.
Third picture - shows the cover of the actual pump I have - the cover is different than the one shown in the manual. There are two connections in the manual
Fourth picture - This is what I don't understand - fuel can go from the "in" hose, and pass thru the 2 holes in the gasket, thru the two small holes drilled in the cover and has a path out of the "Pulse" hose. When priming the bulb, gas will flow out of the #2 carb where the hose connects to the crankcase
Fifth picture - Another view with main body chambers shown
Sixth picture - main body flipped with gasket shown
Seventh picture - All components laid out.
This pump has been worked on before, or replaced by noting 2 different screw head fasteners holding pump together.
Could anyone verify that this pump will work with this engine?
Could anyone tell me if the correct gasket kit was used for this type of pump?
Could anyone tell me the correct part number kit or this style pump?
