1990 OMC 2.0 Liter 140

Good afternoon everyone,

I am turning to the masses for some guidance. My boat is currently in shop for 7 weeks now (awaiting parts), with no end in the near future. My steering drive bracket, which is at the top of the mid-section, directly under the power section is rusted thru on both sides. Apparantly OMC outboards only manufactured this part up until 2002 and Johnson/Evinrude's are not compatible.

Does anyone out there have a lead on where one of these parts may be available?

If not, what now????????

I have missed a significant portion of the boating season and looking to miss a lot more. Any and all information is much appreciated.

This is exactly why I turned to this site. I had no idea there was a salvage list. I'm heading into that realm now. I Will let you know if I find anything.
