Hi Guys, I need a little push off here ok.
My boat failed to crank last night right at the ramp luckily.
I verified all my battery and starter connections, and was at a loss.
Out of desperation, I held the key in start positon and jiggled the shifter, it then started cranking normally, I used the same tecnique to start for the rest of the evening, I learned if I don't pull the control level out and advance the throttle it will crank ok, but if I pull out the lever and throttle up a little (like for a cold engine) I get nothing.
I have a manual and it illustrates control system R&R it's about 6 pages long! right down to the neutal detents and safety switch. Is the OMC controll box really that complicated? seems like alot of small parts, I'm going to attempt to pull it apart clean and lube all the pieces and check that micro switch out closely, can you give me any insight on what to be carefull of or what not to do and anything special that the manual may not mention?
Thanks you guys I love this forum
