I finally got around to draining antifreeze from my boat today. After many years of doing this it is getting old the way I do it.There are 2 on block, one each side, and one on each exhaust manifold. The way I have been doing it is run hose out transum drain, hook a small funnel to end of hose and crack the drain open and wait holding funnel.Mine doesn't have the wing type pitcocks, you just turn the nut with a wrench and it stats coming out.
My question is I am trying to figure out what thread that is on the drain part that you turn to open.I was thing I could take it out of the fitting in manifolds and block, then srew in a valve with a barb end on it,then I could put hose on barb end and go on about my business while it drains.
I know you need to take them out from time to time and stick a wire in there to loosen up crud, but this would make the draining much easier.
