Just found out today that what I was told was a 1988 Evinrude 225hp is actually a 1990 OMC Seadrive 3.0 liter. Since OMC was the merge of Evinrude and Johnson, I have no problem with that. Just curious if anyone out there has any input on these big powerful motors. Also I recently ordered thermostats for a 1988 Evinrude 225hp and they were exactly the same as the one's i took out. I've heard that finding parts may be a problem. So far I really like the motor, runs good and very fast. Started right up the other day after sitting for 7 months during the winter.
