I am refurbishing a 1990 250 Sportsman, nearly identical to the Coastal. In the anchor locker, there appears to have been a steel truss framework to support the bow cleat and the eye used for connecting the trailer winch. It is now a pile of rust and rubble. Does anyone have any insight as to how this was configured? I suspect if I hook up a trailer winch, I will pull it right through the hull unless I can fix this. Wiring diagrams for this boat would also be appreciated. The Welcraft factory has been no help.

Was there a threded rod attached to the under side of the bow cleat and then attached to the Bow eye? If thats what it was it was called the Bow lift ring option. The bow eye is still ok but I wouldn't try to lift it by the bow cleat anymore!!!

Yes, there was the threaded rod. I have since rolled the dice and pulled the boat up onto a trailer (dry). The bow eye held up fine. Thanks for the info!
