I just bought a 1990 Starcraft Mariner with center console ,the fuel tank is under the floor in front of the console ,is it a big job to replace it ? And how is the floor attached ? Ive been told riveted ,what is it riveted too ? It has what ive been told is linoleum on the floor looks like a type of rubber to me . Any input and hints would be well accepted

:welcome: to iboats gonefishing!

If it's factory flooring it's likely vinyl like Marideck or Nautolex.

Not for sure how they did them on CC boats but if it's a factory floor the rivets should be along the edges at every rib and maybe towards the middle.

There will 4 or 5 rows of rivets holding the deck down. The rivets will be under the vinyl that is glued to the deck.

IMO it will be very hard to remove just the front portion to access the tank. You would have to peel back the vinyl to expose the rivets on the piece or two pieces of decking. A piece of the decking may also go under the console which would entail additional work.

Pictures of what you have going on might be a good start. We would be able to better judge what you have going on.

Is the under deck tank factory or work by a PO?
