I have a 1990 WellCraft eclipse 186 I have owned the boat for 9 year we really enjoy the boat, we have done zero repairs on it except annual winterizing. I has served my family very well.
Then after last season on the trailer ride home all came to an end. I ddnt touch the boat until 2 months later ( i have a heated garage so I wasnt worried about freezing. Then I open the sunpad and see the damage. the port side engine mount rotted and sank down.
Since the boat is well paid for and the drivetrain has been flawless.I have decided to stick some time and money into this boat,. Keep in mind i am only keeping this boat for another 5 years then we will need to upgrade

So this is the first weekend on the project

I am starting this thread to show my progress and ask for help when needed because i am a handy person but no expert.

Grinder w/metal blade, sawsall with both wood or metal blade. This for removal not exposure of wood. Typically the whole thing comes out.

A young man did the stringers on the same model 6 years ago and documented it here.

ive got a ‘90 eclipse 196. Almost the same as yours except mine is 12 inches longer. Yours is an XL which omits the doghouse and replaces it with a rear bench. Mine currently has a deckover, and I’ll need to do stringers and floor in another year.

Are you planning to just replace/repair the mounts or are you thinking stringers, floor, etc?

how fast does yours run?
