I purchasce a 1990 St Tropez, can anyone tell me if the hull is solid, or has a core?
I would like to put in a transducer to transmit through the hull, I guess it wont work if it has a core.
Thanks,
George

Doesn't matter. Just take your transducer and put it in your boat where you want to mount it in a plastic bag of water. The water will offer a similar sonic connection to the ducer/hull interface as you would have when permanently mounted. Get a reading preferable in deep water and where there is something you can identify.....get a 5 gallon metal can (flat top) and sink it on a rope right where your ducer is....let it down as far as you can. Get a reading.

Without moving anything but the ducer, take it out of the bag and put it over the side of the boat so that there is nothing but water between it and the can. Compare readings. You have your answer as to will it work.
