1991 200hp johnson speeds up by itself

My problem is, I can shift into drive and be riding along then all of a sudden the boat speeds up even more without me excellerating. Has anyone had this problem and can shed a little light for me

possible sticking timing plate, you accelerate, the throttle plates move, the plate sticks, then vibration cause it move. i've had this problem before, the timing is not advancing all the way when 1st moved, then moves and increases speed.
